Teaser: Vilnius Guide!
Not your average Erasmus flyer. Real stories, cheap beers, Baltic sunsets, and -15°C walk-of-shames. Welcome to the wild card of Eastern Europe.
🏠 Housing (Preview)
Studios with rooftops. Flats in Old Town. Rooms with strangers (and sometimes regrets).
We break down every option — from fancy co-living at Solo Society (gym, events, rooftop!) to DIY Facebook hunts that may or may not come with cutlery.
“I had to buy my own plates, but I lived 5 mins from everything and paid less than 550€” — Thaïs, Vilnius Tech
📚 Uni Life
Want 3-day school weeks? Exchange-friendly profs? Chill vibes with no pop quizzes?
We show you how to hack your schedule, pick intensive courses (4 days and done), and understand why ISM is way more central than Vilnius Tech.
“The teachers were super relaxed — I built my whole week around long weekends.” — Inès, ISM
🎉 Going Out
There’s one bar literally called “+++”. And yes, Salento is as chaotic as people say.
Beer = 2€, shots = a bad idea, and everyone ends up in the same place by 2am anyway. Just bring a coat — winter here does not play.
“Salento… no explanation needed.” — Mathieu, ISM
✈️ Travel Life
Riga, Tallinn, Helsinki — all cheaper than a Paris Uber.
Scandinavia? Easy. Kaunas for basketball? 4€ train.
We give you routes, hacks, and timing tips for the ultimate semester of weekend getaways.
“Riga and Lapland in one month. Vilnius is the perfect travel hub.” — Julie, ISM
🧊 Life in Vilnius
Safe enough to walk home alone at 4am.
Cold enough to freeze your eyelashes.
Surprisingly modern, extremely underrated, and full of hidden gems (plus giant shopping malls for snowstorm days).
“Lithuania is slept on. It’s affordable, social, and just works.” — Paul, Vilnius Tech
Student Reviews
Vilnius Tech
🇱🇹 Exchange in Vilnius
🏠 Housing
I stayed at Solo Society, honestly the best combo of comfort and social life. You get your own studio but still share common areas like the kitchen, gym, and even a rooftop. It’s super modern and well-designed. The only downside? It’s around 40 minutes from Vilnius Tech by public transport. But everything else was fire.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Not ideal if you're at Vilnius Tech, expect 30 to 40 minutes one way. But if you're okay commuting, it’s worth it for the Solo vibe.
✈️ Travel Life
Vilnius is perfectly placed. I did a bunch of trips to the Baltics, went to Kaunas for basketball, and even flew to Scandinavia. Cheap and simple to plan.
🎉 Social Life
Solo is full of exchange students. There were events, dinners, and random meetups happening all the time. Even if you land alone, you won’t stay alone for long.
📚 Classes
Studied Media Studies, not super hard but actually interesting. Classes were manageable, so I still had time to enjoy the city.
🦙 Other
The Solo community makes the difference. You come for the housing, but you stay for the people. If I had to do Vilnius again, I wouldn’t hesitate.
🇱🇹 Exchange in Vilnius
🏠 Housing
Found a cheap flat through a local agency. Great price and location, but Lithuanian neighbors can be… intense. Not super Erasmus-friendly in residential buildings.
🚗 Getting to Campus
My place was in Old Town, I walked to uni every day. No stress.
✈️ Travel Life
Went to Riga, Prague, Budapest, Lapland… It’s all accessible and budget-friendly if you’re smart about it.
🎉 Social Life
Bar = +++
Club = Salento
Food = Katpedele and Manami
2€ for a beer, 6€ for a full meal. Life is good.
📚 Classes
Choose intensives, quick and efficient. Barely had final exams thanks to that trick.
🦙 Other
Lithuanians are chill but distant. Don’t expect small talk in the elevator, but do your thing and you’ll love it.
