🏠 Housing
I stayed in an OEAD student flat (Gasgasse), around €700/month. It was a solid deal – I had 3 flatmates and shared the kitchen, but still had my own space. Made it easy to make friends while still having a "real home" feel. If I did it again, I’d aim for Molkerstrasse – closer to campus.
🚗 Getting to Campus
It was a bit far from WU, but still doable with metro. Took some time but nothing too crazy.
✈️ Travel Life
Weekend trips were 🔥. Bratislava is just 1h away, Budapest was super fun. Everything’s close when you’re in Vienna – it’s built for travelers.
🎉 Social Life
Honestly, having shared housing helped a lot. Met people through my flat, uni, and just going out. There’s always something happening.
📚 Classes
There’s a huge mix – just check the course guide before you pick. Some are super chill, others more intense. Do your homework (on the courses, not in class 😏).

I stayed at The Social Hub Vienna — 100% recommend. Super modern, fun crowd, safe, and well-connected. Around €800/month. You get what you pay for — amazing community, events, and great support. Call the front desk for info: +43 720 882556.
🚗 Getting to Campus
15 min to WU with metro + walk. Super easy. The area (Praterstern) has 3 metro lines and even connects straight to the airport.
✈️ Travel Life
Vienna’s a travel hub. Did Bratislava, Budapest, Prague – all within hours. Book early and it's cheap. Night trains are a vibe.
🎉 Social Life
The Social Hub was a game-changer. Parties, common areas, always people around. No way to feel alone.
📚 Classes
Can’t lie – didn’t stress much. WU has structure but it’s manageable. As long as you don’t pick accounting or hardcore stuff, you’ll be chill.

🏠 Housing
Booked through a housing site — paid €650/month for a studio close to the metro. It was okay, but not very social. If I could do it again, I’d pick somewhere with more exchange students. The vibes matter more than the room, trust me.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Super easy. 3 minutes to the metro, then quick ride in. Vienna transport is elite — never had to wait more than 5 minutes.
✈️ Travel Life
Weekend warrior type beat. Hit Salzburg, Budapest, and went skiing twice with other exchange kids. If you're into the outdoors, Austria’s got you covered.
🎉 Social Life
Had to put in a bit more effort since my place wasn’t that social. But once I connected with other exchange students through Facebook groups and student events, it took off. Wednesdays and Saturdays were sacred (aka party nights).
📚 Classes
Not too heavy. As long as you show up and don’t completely disappear, you’ll survive. Teachers are chill if you keep them in the loop.
🦙 Other
Look for housing early and prioritize community. You won’t remember the square meters, you’ll remember the people you partied and traveled with.

I stayed at The Social Hub and honestly? Best move I made. Modern rooms, chill common areas, and it’s full of internationals — you meet people on Day 1. Paid around €800/month, but it’s all-in: gym, events, fast Wi-Fi, super safe. It felt more like a student hotel than just a dorm. Easy to book online.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Super smooth. About 15 minutes to WU with metro and a short walk. Plus the area (Praterstern) is crazy well connected — trains, metros, airport line. You can get anywhere fast.
✈️ Travel Life
Took every chance I got. Did Bratislava on a random Saturday, Prague with some Social Hub friends, and a ski weekend in Innsbruck.
🎉 Social Life
The Social Hub makes it too easy — rooftop parties, game nights, random people knocking on your door for a drink. I met most of my crew just hanging out in the common kitchen. Also hit Volksgarten and Grelle Forelle a lot.
📚 Classes
WU was pretty chill once I got the hang of it. Took mostly English-taught stuff. As long as you manage your group projects and don’t ghost your profs, you’re fine.

🏠 Housing
I stayed in the OEAD Guesthouse on Molkereistrasse – €565/month for a private flat with 3 roommates. Super international vibe, lots of WU students. They cleaned the place every 2 weeks, had a gym, party room, and all the essentials already there. Only downside: it gets noisy with all the parties and the laundry situation sucks (not enough machines and you gotta pay).
🚗 Getting to Campus
Literally 10 min walk to WU. Best part honestly. Plus 2 min to Prater Park and 5 min to the U2 metro.
✈️ Travel Life
Regiojet trains = the move. Did Prague, Budapest, Bratislava. Also loved going into the Austrian countryside, like Hallstatt and Salzburg. Austria is in the middle of everything — you can get to Poland, Croatia, wherever.
🎉 Social Life
Bar nights, pub quizzes, events near city hall, clubbing at Volksgarten... there’s SO much going on. Molly Darcy’s was our go-to for chill pub nights.
📚 Classes
WU has a lot of options – and some free museum passes if you play it right. Just check what you’re signing up for.
🦙 Other
Avoid taking the CAT train from the airport, it’s a scam. Just take the OBB – same time, €5. Also: GO to the vineyards and drink wine at Grinzing. Trust me.
