Teaser: Valencia Guide!
Forget the sugar-coated brochures. This is the real exchange — beach rides, Spanish roommates, and exams you didn’t study for but still passed.
🏠 Housing (Preview)
Beachfront residence or flat with 10 roommates? Valencia’s housing scene is wild — and not always in a good way.
We break down the top zones (like Marítim and Mestalla), what students paid, and where not to end up (hint: mold is real).
“I lived with 10 girls near Mestalla — easiest move-in ever, and wild energy every night.” — Lilly, UPV
“Resa Patacona was stunning… but the area felt a bit sketchy at night.” — Sofia, UPV
📚 Uni Life
UPV looks like a resort, but don’t get fooled — class attendance counts and some exams bite.
We show you which classes are chill (hello Marketing) and which ones send people straight to the resit list.
“Failed 3 classes because no one helped with course choices. Don’t take DPO!” — Sofia, UPV
“Campus is so nice it feels like you're on holiday — until finals hit.” — Léa, UPV
🎉 Going Out
Open-air clubs. Erasmus raves. Irish pubs with tequila shots.
Valencia’s nightlife has no rules — just bring a fan and a friend.
“Umbracle and Mya are THE spots. Free with Erasmus and always packed.” — Iris, UPV
“Fallas week? You don’t sleep. You just party and dodge fireworks.” — Lilly, UPV
✈️ Travel Tips + Getaways
Ibiza? Maybe. Morocco? 100%.
With budget flights and BlaBlaCar everywhere, weekend escapes are part of the experience.
“We did Morocco for under €100. Best decision ever.” — Mina, UPV
“Madrid, Barcelona, beach days… every weekend was something new.” — Iris, UPV
Student Reviews
UPV
🇪🇸 Exchange in Valencia
🏠 Housing
I lived in a 10-girl shared flat near Mestalla. Super easy setup, cleaning lady, furnished, and just €550 all in. 15 min to UPV by bus, 10 min to the city center. Vibes were great with the French girls, less so with the Spanish ones 😅.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Bus every day, 15 min ride, reliable. Mestalla area is really central for everything.
✈️ Travel Life
Barcelona, Madrid, and some friends did Ibiza (overrated tbh). BlaBlaCar was my go-to, cheap and fast.
🎉 Social Life
Happy Erasmus parties every week, Umbracle on Thursdays, Marina club when it’s warm. Also big fan of Irish pubs and brunch cafés in Ruzafa.
📚 Classes
UPV’s chill if you attend. Marketing was manageable. Finance = pain. Pick wisely, attendance counts for grades.
🦙 Other
Valencia’s super safe, even at night. Food’s cheap, weather’s amazing. Valenbisi bike pass? Total must.
🇪🇸 Exchange in Valencia
🏠 Housing
Shared flat in Marítim with 2 friends — €1000 total, so €330–350 each. Tram 1 min away, sea 10 min walk. Loved the location, hated the humidity in winter. Apartment was cute but poorly insulated.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Tram from Marítim to UPV was perfect. 15 min max. Easy and on time.
✈️ Travel Life
Booked cheap flights with Transavia from Orly. Tip: buy early. We hit Madrid, Morocco, and a bunch of coastal towns.
🎉 Social Life
Committee and Umbracle were my go-to clubs. We also chilled at beach bars near the marina a lot.
📚 Classes
RH, World Economy, ICO, all doable. But IO? Don’t take it. Too hard. Teachers don’t really explain much.
🦙 Other
Weather’s great, but get a dehumidifier if you live near the beach. Mold is real.
