Teaser: Stockholm Guide!
It’s not just snow and silence. Stockholm is saunas, techno, and corridor parties that get out of hand. Cold on the outside — fire once you’re in.
🏠 Housing (Preview)
Lappis is THE place. Think student corridors, parties on a Tuesday, and forest walks with hangovers. If you want peace? Albano’s luxury dorms got you — but for a price.
We break down:
Where to actually meet people
How to avoid housing scams
Which neighborhoods are all vibe, no soul
“My corridor had a bar tab and a cleaning schedule. Guess which one worked.” — Lou, SBS
📚 Uni Life
4 seminars a month. Yep. But also: mandatory group projects, essay deadlines, and campus cafés that make you rethink your life over a cinnamon bun.
Inside the full guide:
Which courses are fun vs. pain
SBS vs. SU — what actually fits you
How to score max free time with 3-day weekends
“4 hours of class a week… but somehow I was always busy. Stockholm is sneaky like that.” — Clémence, SBS
🎉 Going Out
Sweden parties on Wednesdays. Clubs are picky. Vodka Red Bull is €20. But once you're in — pure chaos (with stylish people and perfect lighting).
Inside:
The secret student bars (yes, they exist)
What to wear, say, and avoid at the door
Where rooftop sunsets turn into 2AM regrets
“If you’re not on the guest list, dress like it. Stockholm doesn’t mess around.” — Marc, SU
✈️ Weekend Escapes + Northern Adventures
Ferries to Finland. Dog sledding in Lapland. Viking towns and sauna boats.
We cover:
What to book early (Sea Battle, trust us)
Where to go for 2 days, 5 days, or no plans
How to travel Sweden-style: clean, efficient, and kind of expensive
Student Reviews
Stockholm University
🇸🇪 Exchange in Sweden
🏠 Housing
Stayed in a shared corridor at Lappis, own room + bathroom, shared kitchen with 10 people. Rent was around 420€/month. The area’s super green and peaceful, but the real win is the social life once the snow melts. Corridor parties + lakeside BBQs = core memories.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Took me about 15 min by foot to Albano campus, or 5 with the bus. Everything's well-connected, and the metro gets you downtown in under 10 min. Pro tip: no need for a monthly pass unless you’re riding every day.
🎉 Social Life
Wednesday = student night. Rooftop bars in summer, corridor dinners in winter. Club Rose and Café Opera are fancier, but pre-drinks at Lappis were honestly better. The Sea Battle cruise? Pure chaos. Worth it.
📚 Classes
Had class maybe 4h a week. Mostly group work and essays — chill if you stay organized. Swedish teachers are hands-off, so no one chases you. If you're into flexibility, this system is gold.
🦙 Other
Stockholm isn’t cheap, but you can manage with Lidl, student discounts, and corridor dinners. Cold? Yes. But the sunsets at 2pm hit different. And once spring hits, the whole city wakes up.
🇸🇪 Exchange in Sweden
🏠 Housing
I lived in Albano: modern studios, private kitchen and bath, €850/month. Not cheap, but spotless and 3 minutes from class. Less social than Lappis, but great if you value peace and a sick view.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Albano is basically on campus. No commute. For city adventures, I biked everywhere, Stockholm’s made for it, even in winter with the right gear.
🎉 Social Life
Join ESN and say yes to everything at the start. From laser tag to Valborg, it’s how you meet people fast. Wednesdays are for clubbing (Hells Kitchen, Södra), weekends for exploring.
📚 Classes
Took mostly Bachelor-level classes, but still had to do a lot of self-study. No mandatory lectures = freedom, but don’t slack too hard or group work will kill you.
🦙 Other
Download SL app, grab the discounted student travel card, and never stress about buses again. Stockholm is clean, insanely safe, and you’ll catch yourself saying “fika?” way too often.
