🇲🇽 Exchange in Monterrey
🏠 Housing
I lived in a house with 5 other French students — amazing vibes. But honestly, I’d recommend Torres Tec for the real exchange experience. Pool, packed with international students, and super social. We paid around €480/month. Our house was 20 mins walk from campus, which was fine, but the residence is even closer.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Walking worked for us, but for parties and late nights, always Uber. It’s Mexico — don’t mess around at night.
✈️ Travel Life
Tulum and Bacalar were insane. Some people also went to Costa Rica and Guatemala. Flights are cheap if you plan a bit.
🎉 Social Life
Wild. San Pedro = party zone. Strana and Cosmo were my favs. Mercado Revolution on Wednesdays was THE weekly spot. Student life is super active, especially in the residences. Barbecues, house parties — always something happening.
📚 Classes
Campus feels like a mini-USA. 3 Starbucks, animals walking around. Classes were not super hard but you need to work a bit. Try to group them in one block to free up time.
🦙 Other
Budget like you’re in France. Weather gets HOT from March — like 40°C.
🇲🇽 Exchange in Monterrey
🏠 Housing
I stayed at El Castillo (manage by Blum Agency), this huge house with two terraces and 5 other students. Two floors, 3 bathrooms, and a BBQ. 10 mins from UDEM, 5 mins from a supermarket. Safe and quiet neighborhood, mostly students around. Between €300–€350/month. Heads up though — hot water isn’t always reliable 😅
🚗 Getting to Campus
10 min walk. Easy. For the center or nights out, Uber all the way. Cheap and safe.
✈️ Travel Life
I traveled all over Mexico. Puerto Escondido was my favorite. And if you’re there for Día de los Muertos — go to Michoacán or Oaxaca. Unreal experience.
🎉 Social Life
Toto was the go-to club. El Mercado on Wednesdays = open air, DJ sets, beer pong, food trucks. The exchange community is super tight.
📚 Classes
Consumer Behavior in Spanish = amazing vibe with local students. Marketing = chill. International Business = more serious, group projects and exams.

Talk to locals — it makes the experience way more authentic.
