🇲🇽 Exchange in Mexico, Spring 2025
🏠 Housing
I lived in a house with 5 other French students — amazing vibes. But honestly, I’d recommend Torres Tec for the real exchange experience. Pool, packed with international students, and super social. We paid around €480/month. Our house was 20 mins walk from campus, which was fine, but the residence is even closer.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Walking worked for us, but for parties and late nights, always Uber. It’s Mexico — don’t mess around at night.
✈️ Travel Life
Tulum and Bacalar were insane. Some people also went to Costa Rica and Guatemala. Flights are cheap if you plan a bit.
🎉 Social Life
Wild. San Pedro = party zone. Strana and Cosmo were my favs. Mercado Revolution on Wednesdays was THE weekly spot. Student life is super active, especially in the residences. Barbecues, house parties — always something happening.
📚 Classes
Campus feels like a mini-USA. 3 Starbucks, animals walking around. Classes were not super hard but you need to work a bit. Try to group them in one block to free up time.
🦙 Other
Budget like you’re in France. Weather gets HOT from March — like 40°C.

🏠 Housing
I stayed at El Castillo (manage by Bloom Agency), this huge house with two terraces and 5 other students. Two floors, 3 bathrooms, and a BBQ. 10 mins from UDEM, 5 mins from a supermarket. Safe and quiet neighborhood, mostly students around. Between €300–€350/month. Heads up though — hot water isn’t always reliable 😅
🚗 Getting to Campus
10 min walk. Easy. For the center or nights out, Uber all the way. Cheap and safe.
✈️ Travel Life
I traveled all over Mexico. Puerto Escondido was my favorite. And if you’re there for Día de los Muertos — go to Michoacán or Oaxaca. Unreal experience.
🎉 Social Life
Toto was the go-to club. El Mercado on Wednesdays = open air, DJ sets, beer pong, food trucks. The exchange community is super tight.
📚 Classes
Consumer Behavior in Spanish = amazing vibe with local students. Marketing = chill. International Business = more serious, group projects and exams.
🦙 Other
Talk to locals — it makes the experience way more authentic.

🇲🇽 Exchange in Mexico, Spring 2025
🏠 Housing
Lived just next to the TEC — super convenient. Shared the house with 5 other students and paid around €450/month. Nothing fancy, but the location made life way easier.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Literally a few minutes by foot. No stress, no Ubers, just vibes.
✈️ Travel Life
Went full tourist mode: Miami, plus a ton of cool spots all around Mexico. Travel is super doable (and cheap if you plan it right).
🎉 Social Life
San Pedro is the place to party. Strana = favorite club. Wild nights guaranteed.
📚 Classes
Took Doing Business in Mexico — fully online, super chill. Honestly not too hard if you keep up.
🦙 Other
Good luck and enjoy it, you’re gonna love Monterrey.

🏠 Housing
Stayed in an Airbnb in San Pedro, super safe and close to all the clubs. Needed Uber for campus tho. Paid €450/month. No scam, good experience overall.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Always Uber. Campus wasn’t walkable but Uber rides were cheap and fast.
✈️ Travel Life
Took a direct flight to Cancun for just €100 round trip. Totally worth it.
🎉 Social Life
Cosmo was my fav club. There was a taco place right in front of it — life saver. Met tons of people, went out all the time.
📚 Classes
Try to stack your classes on the same days so you can travel. Not too many options, but it’s manageable.
🦙 Other
Monterrey itself? Meh. We were always hanging in San Pedro anyway.

🏠 Housing
Booked through Michell Elizondo, one of the Blum house managers. Super close to uni and cheap — I paid €400/month. Not super fancy, but cozy enough, and Michell was always kind and super helpful. Felt more like a family vibe than a rental.
🚗 Getting to Campus
I was basically next door — walked to class every day. No stress.
✈️ Travel Life
Went to Mexico City and explored the surroundings a bit. Buses and flights are both chill if you plan ahead.
🎉 Social Life
Loved Barrio Antiguo — that old-school downtown with cafés, second-hand shops, and cool vibes. Also checked out Cerro de la Silla and caught a game at the Tigres stadium. Weekends were never boring.
📚 Classes
Didn’t mention much but had no issues. Just focus enough to pass and enjoy the rest.
🦙 Other
Michell’s houses are all over Monterrey, and she’s one of the most trusted names in the game. If you don’t wanna deal with scammy landlords — go Blum.
