Teaser: Madrid Guide!
Madrid doesn’t flirt — it grabs you by the hand and drags you into the chaos.
Loud nights, cheap drinks, rooftop views, 6AM regrets. If you came here for peace and quiet... you booked the wrong exchange.
This is just a taste. Full guide drops once you join. 🦙
🏠 Where to Live (Preview)
Your flat = your fun. Madrid has 1000 options — most of them confusing.
Top Rec: SPOTAHOME
The go-to platform for Erasmus colocs (shared flats). Why?
Booking in English
5–6 month rentals
High chance of living with other exchange students
⚠️ Some are overpriced or not as shiny as in photos. Always compare.
Best Neighborhoods:
Argüelles: Center of everything, near unis.
Malasaña: Bars, hipsters, chaos. Loved by students.
Chueca/Sol: Central, lively, and safe.
Avoid: Far south (Vallecas, Villaverde), and Lavapiés at night.
“Live in the center. You’ll party more and Uber less.” – Célestine

100 Montaditos: €1 beers, €1 food, packed with students
Jack’s Library: Hidden speakeasy
RIU Rooftop: Views that slap, especially at sunset
Clubs You’ll Crawl Back From:
Kapital: 7 floors. Enough said.

“Say yes to every plan in the first 2 weeks — that’s how the magic starts.” – Louis-Gabriel
📚 Uni Life (Preview)
It’s chill if you’re smart.
Pick the right classes, show up (kinda), and you’ll pass while still living your best life.
Most Popular Unis:
IE University: Fancy, modern, but no real campus vibe
CEU San Pablo: More traditional, with free gym/pool and Erasmus life
Nebrija: Small, central, and super international
Tip: Stack classes Mon–Wed → 4-day weekends 😎
Avoid hardcore finance/law in Spanish unless you want pain

Madrid is your launchpad.
Trains, buses, and flights get you to:
Toledo / Segovia for fairytale vibes

Ibiza / Mallorca for that island glow-up
Marrakech (yes, Africa’s just a flight away)
“Spain is built for weekends away. Just pack a bag and go.” – Camille

Universidad De Nebrija
🇪🇸 Exchange in Madrid
🏠 Housing
Found my place on Spotahome — shared flat with 8 people, €725/month charges included. The location was perfect, close to the center, Malasaña vibes, shops everywhere. Super safe area and only 12 min walk from my uni. Totally recommend it.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Only 12 minutes walking. Easy. And if I was lazy, metro was super quick too.
✈️ Travel Life
Weekend trips to Morocco, Granada, Cordoba, Seville — bus tickets were like €30. So worth it.
🎉 Social Life
Bars in Malasaña were my go-to. Habanera for pre-drinks, Kapital for clubbing. Always something going on. You won't be bored.
📚 Classes
I liked “Structura y dinamica de la sociedad”, “Globalizacion”, and “Recursos humanos”. Super interesting and not too hard.
🦙 Other
Madrid felt super safe. At first it was hard to trust housing stuff, but once you’re in, it’s amazing.
🇪🇸 Exchange in Madrid
🏠 Housing
I booked through Spotahome. Lived solo next to the opera. Honestly preferred being in the center than near the uni. I walked everywhere — day, night, to parties. Paid €950/month tho. Residences are even more expensive and smaller.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Metro to school. Only had 3 days of class, so I didn’t mind. The rest of the time? City was mine.
✈️ Travel Life
Seville, Valencia, Toledo, Ibiza, Canaries — didn’t stop traveling. Spain is so easy to move around.
🎉 Social Life
BuleBule club was my spot. Met people fast. Center location helped. Could always walk home after going out, even late.
📚 Classes
If you're smart, pick courses based on schedule — I had 3 days a week. Easy to enjoy the rest. Super chill uni, great vibe.
🦙 Other
Madrid is expensive, but 100% worth it. Pick location > apartment size. You’ll thank me later.
