Teaser: Jakarta Guide!
Not your average “study abroad in Asia” flyer. This is what it’s actually like — mall-living, volcano-hopping, and rooftop chilling.
🏠 Housing (Preview)
One name kept coming up: Taman Anggrek Residences. It’s basically the international exchange HQ. Massive pools, private gym, karaoke rooms, and a skybridge straight into a mall.
Every student we asked lived there — and now we’re official partners. That means verified listings, safe booking, and a fast-pass to the best housing.
We also cover Airbnb tricks, what prices to expect, and which areas to avoid.
“It’s not just an apartment — it’s the exchange student bubble.” — Jean, BINUS
“I had everything: a pool, gym, even a mall under my feet.” — Estelle, BINUS
📚 Uni Life
No cap: uni life in Jakarta is chill. Most students take 2–3 days of classes a week, with open-book exams and plenty of time to travel.
We break down which classes to take (Communication, Sustainability…), how to build a long-weekend-friendly schedule, and what the admin chaos looks like so you’re ready.
“We literally planned our week to fly out every Thursday.” — Louise, Pertamina
“Final exams? I did mine from France.” — Lola, BINUS
🍸 Going Out
Jakarta doesn’t have a bar on every corner — but it has rooftops. Big ones. With views, music, and cocktails that don’t break the bank.
We’ll show you where exchange students pregame, where they actually party, and how to make the most of a city that’s not made for walking.
“Skye Bar hits different after a week of traffic and Grab rides.” — Zoé, Pertamina
✈️ Travel + Long Weekends
If Jakarta is your base, the real magic is outside it.
Bali? €90 round trip. Komodo? Sleep on a boat and see dragons. Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam — a couple of hours away. We map it all.
“Every weekend was a new island. I barely unpacked.” — Raphaël, Pertamina
“Komodo cruise > any club. Trust me.” — Estelle, BINUS

🇮🇩 Exchange in Jakarta
🏠 Housing
Found a place on Instagram! Lived in Kuningan, super central and around €250/month. Lots of food spots and nightlife close by.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Took TransJakarta buses, dirt cheap and surprisingly reliable. Also walked a lot (if you can survive the heat).
✈️ Travel Life
Went to Bali 3 times (oops), explored local islands, and even did a visa run to Malaysia. You’ll never run out of travel options.
🎉 Social Life
Student bars are a thing! Loved Skybar and Lucy in the Sky for weekend hangs. Exchange group organized a ton of events.
📚 Classes
Super interactive. Presentations, group projects, and a lot of teamwork. Felt more relaxed than back home.

Top tip: Get a reusable water bottle with a filter; saves cash and the planet.
🇮🇩 Exchange in Jakarta
🏠 Housing
Shared a flat with other exchange students in South Jakarta. €280/month with pool access — yes, pool! Great vibe and easy to meet people.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Mostly took Grab cars or motorbikes. Super cheap and the drivers are legends. Just avoid rush hour (6–9am, 5–8pm).
✈️ Travel Life
Jakarta’s a good base for travel — weekends in Bali, Komodo Island, even quick trips to Thailand. Insane nature everywhere.
🎉 Social Life
So many rooftop spots and student parties. Karaoke nights turned into club nights more than once. Locals love it when you try speaking Bahasa.
📚 Classes
Pretty chill schedule. Managed to travel a lot while still passing everything. Professors are flexible if you stay in touch.
🦙 Other
Top tip: Don’t be afraid of street food. Nasi goreng from a cart hits different at midnight.
