🇮🇪 Exchange in Dublin
🏠 Housing
Stayed at Yugo residence, €1300/month for a private room in an 8-person flat. Not gonna lie: way too expensive for what it is. But location was great (10min walk to class, 15min to bars). Some flatmates were chaos, others became close friends. Gamble, but it paid off.
🚗 Getting to Campus
3-minute walk. Nothing more to say. If you're at Griffith, staying nearby is a huge win.
✈️ Travel Life
Took every chance to escape the rain: Galway, Belfast, Cork, and a cheeky Ryanair trip to Lisbon. Don’t waste weekends, Ireland is small, cheap buses everywhere.
🎉 Social Life
Dicey’s for €2 drinks and dangerous decisions. The Bleeding Horse for pub nights. Always someone to go out with, just say yes.
📚 Classes
Marketing Practice was super chill. HR was group work only. Show up, smile, done. Teachers are cool if you participate a bit.
🦙 Other
Get a Leap Card day one, it’ll save you a fortune. And always carry a rain jacket. Umbrellas die in 5 minutes.
🇮🇪 Exchange in Dublin
🏠 Housing
Found a shared flat on Daft.ie, €1150/month in Ranelagh. Pricey, yeah, but quiet area and close enough to campus. Pro tip: never send money before a video tour. Dublin scams are real.
🚗 Getting to Campus
15min by bus to UCD. Not ideal in the rain, but manageable. Having the Leap Card made everything smoother.
✈️ Travel Life
Did a road trip through the Ring of Kerry with some Erasmus friends, unreal. Also hit Edinburgh and Paris on long weekends. Ryanair’s your new best friend.
🎉 Social Life
Whelan’s for indie music, The George for wild nights, and random pub crawls from the Erasmus group. Don't wait — first-week events are key to meeting people.
📚 Classes
More demanding than expected. Global Business Environment was interesting but had real deadlines. Choose 1 or 2 chill ones to balance.
🦙 Other
Watch your wallet in clubs, and do not show up drunk at the door, bouncers will kick you. Dublin nights go from zero to chaos real quick.
