Toronto is Drake, skyline views, late-night poutine, and house parties in the snow. It’s concerts, streetwear, food from every culture, and energy that hits like NYC but nicer.

Teaser: Toronto Guide!

This isn’t some copy-pasted exchange PDF. This is Toronto unfiltered — pub nights, CN Tower views, 4-day class weeks, and lakeside sunsets.

🏠 Housing (Preview)

Downtown or campus? With Toronto rent, you’ve got to choose smart.

We break down the real options:
Where students live, how much they actually pay, and which buildings are full of exchange legends (hint: Neil Wycik = party central).
Campus housing? Super practical. Airbnbs? Pricey but freedom.

“Pond Residence was 5 min from class and next to the metro — zero stress.” — Ivanne, York
“We booked an Airbnb near TMU. Not the best area but safe and close to everything.” — Romane, TMU

📚 Uni Life

Exchange in Canada = study and live. Classes are participative, some are 100% online (yep), and the best students stack their schedule to be free from Thursday.

We tell you which courses to take (and avoid), how to build your week, and how students use the system to get more time to live.

“I had all my classes Mon–Wed and traveled the rest of the week.” — Samy, York
“Ethics in Commerce at TMU? Surprisingly dope. You actually learn how Canadians think.” — Romane, TMU

🎉 Going Out

Toronto’s nightlife is lowkey elite.
You’ve got frat house pubs, clubs with skyline views, and dive bars with unexpected DJs.

Rebel, Madison Pub, 2Cats, and pre-games that turn into city-wide chaos.
We show you where to go, when to go, and how to not end up alone in a 40 CAD Uber.

“Frat parties near Madison were insane. You just show up and let it happen.” — Evlyn, TMU

✈️ Travel Tips + Escapes

Niagara? Montreal? NYC?
Weekends are made for bus rides, border crossings, and national parks.

Some students flew to Banff. Others hit Mexico. The smart ones stacked classes Mon–Wed and disappeared Thurs–Sun. We’ll show you how.

“Vancouver and Banff during break week was the best decision of my exchange.” — Malo, York

🏠 Housing

Lived at Neil Wycik Co-op. It’s not luxury, but it’s unbeatable for location and price. I paid ~450 CAD/month, had my own room, shared kitchen, and met people from literally every continent. It’s loud, fun, and 5 min from class. Book early, it fills up fast.

🚗 Getting to Campus

TMU is across the street. I used to wake up 10 min before class and still make it on time. Everything’s walkable, groceries, gym, bars, you name it.

✈️ Travel Life

Took buses to Montréal, Niagara, and even New York. Also flew to Vancouver during reading week. Plan trips in advance and stack your classes early in the week.

🎉 Social Life

Rebel on Saturdays. Madison Pub on Wednesdays. And Neil Wycik had random floor parties all the time. Best decision I made was living somewhere social.

📚 Classes

Took Ethics in Commerce, Digital Marketing, and a communication class that was 100% online, perfect for travelers.

🦙 Other

Toronto isn’t cheap. Set a real budget. But the freedom, vibes, and city life made every dollar worth it.

🇨🇦 – Exchange in Toronto
🏠 Housing

I stayed in Pond Residence on campus. 900€/month for a clean, quiet single room 5 min from class. Metro nearby. If you don’t want to waste time commuting, this is the move.

🚗 Getting to Campus

Literally 3 min walk. Downtown is 45 min by metro but manageable. Most exchange students stayed on campus and then took Ubers for nightlife.

✈️ Travel Life

Went to Banff, Tobermory, and Montréal. Canada is huge, so take advantage of the break week and use Communautoto rent a car with friends.

🎉 Social Life

More chill on campus, but we organized our own pregames and nights out. The best nights were spontaneous Ubers to Madison or Queen Street.

📚 Classes

Marketing and strategy classes were interactive and project-based. Avoid Finance unless you want to cry. Took all my classes Mon–Wed to travel.

🦙 Other

York is like a mini-city. Gyms, food courts, even a pool. I barely left campus during the week.
