Letโs make sure you donโt miss out on housing, tips & your future crew!
Teaser: Sydney Guide!
Not your average "mate throw a shrimp on the barbie" clichรฉ. This is real-deal student life: beach mornings, rooftop nights, and lectures somewhere in between.
๐ Housing (Preview)
Start in a hostel, end in a sharehouse โ thatโs the move.
We break down the suburbs students actually choose: from beachy Bondi to central Surry Hills.
Whatโs social, whatโs a scam, and where youโll blow your budget without even realizing.
โI was sharing a dorm with six people and still wouldnโt trade it. Made friends in two days.โ โ Aymeric, SP Jain
๐ Uni Life
Letโs just say... the campus isnโt why students fall in love with Sydney.
Classes are light, attendance is flexible (like really flexible), and if youโre smart, youโll stack all your courses into 2 days a week. Thatโs 5 days for life.
โThe prof literally said: โEveryone gets at least a 12.โ Say less.โ โ Thibaut, SP Jain
๐น Going Out
Boat parties? Yep. Rooftop cocktails? Of course. A club called Caterpillar Club that randomly turns into a dancefloor at 1am? Absolutely.
From Coogee Pavilion to Cliff Dive, Sydneyโs nightlife is international, wild, and surprisingly elegant (until itโs not).
โNo student parties at school โ so we built our own scene. Rooftops, beach drinks, DJs. Never boring.โ โ Syrine, SP Jain
โ๏ธ Travel & Weekends
Jervis Bay. Byron Bay. Blue Mountains. New Zealand.
Youโll be flying, road-tripping, and beach hopping like itโs your job.
Weโll show you where to go, how to split costs, and why every student suddenly becomes a part-time travel agent.
โGo to New Zealand. Iโm not joking. Best trip of my life.โ โ James, SP Jain

๐ Housing
Started in a hostel at Potts Point (booked on Booking.com) for 3 weeks, cost about $280 AUD/week with breakfast & dinner included. After that, moved into a shared room in Surry Hills found via Flatmates.com.au. Paid around $250 AUD/week. Super social, best decision. Hostel life was unbeatable for meeting people at the start.
๐ Getting to Campus
From Surry Hills to SP Jain: ~1h door-to-door by train + walk. But I barely went to class, so worth being near bars, beaches, and everything fun.
โ๏ธ Travel Life
Took 2 weeks off at the beginning (they donโt check attendance at first) and did New Zealand. Also went to Byron Bay, Jervis Bay, and Blue Mountains, all incredible.
๐ Social Life
CIRQ, Ivy, and Caterpillar Club are musts. Also hit 2 boat parties, found them via hostel flyers. Sydney is expensive, but the party scene is worth it.
๐ Classes
Stacked all my courses over 2 days. Group projects were easy, and profs super chill. Never stressed once.
๐ฆ Other
Hostel gave me job leads and instant friends. 10/10 recommend starting your exchange there.

๐ Housing
Went all-in on location: Surry Hills, 5-min walk from Central Station. Found via Flatmates. Paid ~$1300/month for a private room. Super expensive, but I wanted a central, walkable life and zero FOMO.
๐ Getting to Campus
Around 45 min by train, but had class 2 days a week, so didnโt care. Living near bars, rooftops, and beach buses was 100% worth it.
โ๏ธ Travel Life
Weekend trips to Blue Mountains, Jervis Bay, and Tasmania. Flew to Melbourne and Brisbane on random long weekends. Planning matters, flights get expensive last minute.
๐ Social Life
Lived 10 mins from Darlinghurst = perfect for bars and pre-games. Did international student meetups and some French backpacker nights. Scene is super global.
๐ Classes
Easy. One prof gave everyone 14+. Just show up for group work. They donโt check much โ fingerprint login at most.
๐ฆ Other
Surry Hills = best decision. Felt safe, social, and central. Wouldn't change a thing.
