🇨🇱 Exchange in Santiago
🏠 Housing
I stayed at LivinnX! A bit expensive, yeah, but perfect if you’re solo and want to meet people fast. Tons of international students, big shared areas, clean rooms. It's like a student hotel.
🚗 Getting to Campus
The uni was in Bella Vista so I was about 15–20 min away by metro. LivinnX is well-connected, and it's easy to get around even at night, the area felt safe.
✈️ Travel Life
We did it all: Atacama, Patagonie, Mendoza, Machu Picchu, Rio... Easy buses, cheap flights. The real move is placing your classes midweek so you can escape Thursday to Monday.
🎉 Social Life
Wednesdays = Miercoles Po. Weekend = Sala Gente or Alicia. Chill drinks? Bellavista and Barrio Italia got you. Views? Cerro San Cristobal or rooftop W Hotel. Basically: no shortage of plans.
📚 Classes
Don’t take “Marketing Internacional” worst course ever. Try easier ones like Spanish or Admin de Personas. Schedule matters more than content.
🦙 Other
If you want a low-effort, social and safe experience, LivinnX does the job. Especially helpful if you don’t have local contacts.

🇨🇱 Exchange in Chile (UDD)
🏠 Housing
I lived in a Santiago Exchange house with 17 people in Barrio Italia! It was amazing. A bit chaotic (1 kitchen for all of us), but the best to meet people and feel instantly part of the exchange scene.
🚗 Getting to Campus
UDD was far (45+ min), but we only had class 2 days a week, so it was fine. Living in a fun area was way more important than being close to uni.
✈️ Travel Life
We went all in: coast, Atacama, Patagonie, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru... Santiago is a killer base to explore South America.
🎉 Social Life
Every Wednesday = Miercoles Po. Bar-hopping in Barrio Italia, then clubs in Bellavista. If you like going out, this is the zone.
📚 Classes
Campus is nice but far. Classes are super chill — you get 1 month to test and switch courses. I barely went.
🦙 Other
Uber is cheap, food’s affordable, life’s pretty safe for South America. Honestly, it’s the perfect balance of freedom and fun.
