🏠 Housing
We found a flat for 4 people, 15 min from campus. Around €500/month through a local agency that usually works with AlmaU but also helps KIMEP students. Don’t stress — flats pop up 2–4 weeks before the semester.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Walked everywhere or took Uber. It’s insanely cheap — like €2 for a ride across the city.
✈️ Travel Life
Mountains every weekend, 3-day road trip with a private driver, and trips to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and even India. Almaty is the perfect base.
🎉 Social Life
Ask local students for party Instas. Neo Bar and Kumano were our favorites. You’ll find your crew fast.
📚 Classes
Built my schedule over 2 days. Teachers were chill, attendance wasn’t strict, and the vibe was relaxed.

🏠 Housing
Shared a 3-person flat found through Krisha. €415/month all included. Great location near malls, metro, and 30 min walk to uni. A bit expensive vs. dorms, but more freedom.
🚗 Getting to Campus
Usually walked or took a taxi — it’s like €1–2 per ride. So easy.
✈️ Travel Life
Weekend in Kyrgyzstan, day trips to the mountains, and plans for Thailand mid-semester. It’s super doable with a flexible schedule.
🎉 Social Life
A bit slow to start, but once you meet KIMEP students it kicks off fast. Neo Bar is where it happens.
📚 Classes
Marketing and Leadership courses — easy and flexible. I had 4-day weekends all semester.
🦙 Other
No contract, paid in cash, and big language barrier. But locals are super helpful once you connect.
